The Surrey RCMP will be holding its three final information sessions for the current intake of its Auxiliary Constable Program.

Working under the command of the RCMP, auxiliary constables are uniformed volunteers who assist police with community-based policing and crime prevention programs in a volunteer capacity, providing assistance to police officers in the field when necessary.

"The Surrey RCMP is looking for committed citizens of Surrey who have some extra time and a strong desire to make a difference in their city," says Auxiliary Constable Program coordinator Merv Bayda. "As an auxiliary constable, you become a valuable resource to your community and gain knowledge and experience unlike any other volunteer opportunity."

Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, proficient in English, have a valid B.C. Class 5 drivers license, and have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Information sessions will be held at District 2 RCMP office at 10395 148 St. on:

•    Sat, Mar. 15, 2014 at 10 a.m.
