A Surrey teen has earned a provincial silver medal for her skills in fashion design.
Betty Zhao, a Kwantlen Polytechnic University student, was recognized at the 2011 B.C. Skills Canada Competition, held April 20 in Abbotsford.
KPU students swept the podium in the fashion and technology category. Top spot was won by Port Coquitlam’s Joanne Hu, while Courtney Billinkoff of Vancouver won bronze.
Hu now advances to the national Skills Canada Competition, June 1-4 in Quebec City.
