Talking about the importance of play

Public speaker and author Cris Rowan will host a workshop about the subject at Panorama Ridge Secondary in March.

Public speaker and author Cris Rowan will be hosting a workshop Panorama Ridge Secondary, 13220 64 Ave., on March 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. focusing on the importance of movement and play for children.

According to research, a lack of physical movement has resulted low postural tone, poor co-ordination and fluctuating arousal states – important for printing, reading and paying attention.

Parents, teachers, administrators, special education staff, and all others interested in learning more about the workshop are invited to attend.

Cost to attend is $15 or $10 for members of the Learning Disabilities Association of B.C. – Fraser South.
