A group of students from Lord Tweedsmuir and Semiahmoo secondary schools pick up trash along White Rock’s East

Beach near the Little Campbell River Sunday as part of the annual Great Shoreline Cleanup.

The cross-country campaign to protect shorelines started in 1994, with a small team in Stanley Park.

Now, more than 20,000 volunteers take part each year.
