White Rock Community Policing staff and volunteers bid a fond farewell to one of their own Friday.
Longtime volunteer Archie Miller died earlier this month at Peace Arch Hospital, after suffering a heart attack.
Miller, 79, began volunteering at the detachment in 2000. Volunteer program co-ordinator Julia Everett said Miller remained active with various programs right up until the week before his death.
He spent several days a week contributing to such programs as Community on Patrol, Speed Watch, Stop Watch and at special events, Everett said. Miller will be remembered as someone who “always had a twinkle in his eye and a desire to make people happy,” she said.
“He will be missed.”
A funeral service was held Feb. 18.
