White Rock Baha’is celebrate

200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah

More than 50 people gathered at the White Rock Community Centre last Friday to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the prophet founder of the Baha’i faith. The audience included people with other religious beliefs and people from Ireland, Colombia, Africa, Singapore and China. A message of unity and justice among all people regardless of race or faith was shared at the Oct. 20 event.

More than 50 people gathered at the White Rock Community Centre last Friday to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the prophet founder of the Baha’i faith.

The audience included people with other religious beliefs and people from Ireland, Colombia, Africa, Singapore and China.

A message of unity and justice among all people regardless of race or faith was shared at the Oct. 20 event.

White Rock Mayor Wayne Baldwin and Assembly of First Nations national Chief Perry Bellegarde both sent a message of support for the celebration.

“I am extremely proud of organizations and faiths that recognize the value of creating opportunities to bring people together under the principles of unity, peace and collaboration… and recognize and express gratitude to the leaders and organizers of The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of White Rock for organizing this festive event in our community,” Baldwin’s message read.
