White Rock council honours artists

Local artists to be celebrated Oct. 21 at White Rock Community Centre

White Rock council is shifting its usual place of business for a special occasion Monday, holding its Oct. 21 meeting at the White Rock Community Centre in order to celebrate local artists.

The event is “to bring as many of the community’s artists together and celebrate the work they do and the pleasure they bring to our community,” an announcement explaining the change of venue states.

It is the second of its kind this year. In February, 13 artists and organizations were highlighted as ‘community inspirations.’

The evening is to get underway at 7 p.m. and will include recognition of a selection of artists and a display of their work.

It will be followed by the regularly scheduled council meeting.

The White Rock Community Centre is located at 15154 Russell Ave.
