White Rock provides support for not-for-profit groups

Council voted to approve grants-in-aid with a combined value of $24,450

The City of White Rock has given the thumbs-up to awarding financial support to 28 not-for-profit groups and endeavours.

Council voted unanimously last week to approve grants-in-aid with a combined value of $24,450.

Grants-in-aid are awarded annually to groups, teams, individuals and societies that meet specific criteria.

Recipients for 2014  include Semiahmoo House Society, Ocean’s Athletics Track & Field, Semiahmoo Peninsula Marine Rescue Society, White Rock Blues Society and Critter Care Wildlife Society and Kids Help Phone.

The grants ranged in value from $250 to $2,000.
