Youth writing contest

The deadline to enter Surrey Public Library's Young Adult Writing Contest for a chance at up to $150 is Aug. 7.

Surrey Public Library is inviting teens to let their imaginations run wild this summer for a chance at cash prizes.

SPL’s 25th Young Adult Writing Contest runs through Tuesday, Aug. 7, and is open to youth aged 12 to 18 years.

Eligible submissions include stories (1,500 words max, no illustrations), poems (36 lines max, no illustrations) and comics (black-and-white only, four to seven pages long).

Prizes of up to $150 will be awarded in each of five categories. There is a $3 fee per entry. Entry rules and forms are available at any Surrey Library branch or online at surreylibraries.ca/4944.aspx
