Justin Trudeau started the 2021 federal election campaign the same way he ended the 2019 campaign, by visiting Cloverdale.
Trudeau made a campaign stop at the Hawthorne pub on 176th Street Aug. 18 to support John Aldag’s bid to retake the riding of Cloverdale-Langley City after losing to Tamara Jansen in the 2019 federal election.
Trudeau and Aldag hopped behind the bar to pour a few glasses of beer.
“It was a great day today as we welcomed Justin Trudeau to Cloverdale – Langley City,” said John Aldag. “I look forward to many more great days ahead as we deliver our recovery plan that works for everyone.”

Aldag’s campaign manager Jonathan Robinson hoped the visit helps give Aldag some momentum as he kicks off his campaign.
”This visit helps generate the excitement and energy we need to get our supporters out on the doorsteps and take back Cloverdale – Langley City,” said Robinson.
After the visit, Trudeau headed to Port Moody and Aldag went out door knocking in Cloverdale.
In 2019, Trudeau dropped in to visit Aldag at a coffee shop on 176th Street on the last day of the election. (See link above.)
