Cloverdale will be alive with the sound of string music July 17.
That afternoon, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., participants in the Reformed String Camp will perform at four locations in the downtown core.
Various string instrument artists will play outdoors at: Cloverdale Pharmasave, Hawthorne Square, Elena’s Cafe, and the law offices of MacMillan Tucker.
The musicians will play a variety of music.
“The Reformed String Camp is a church-based musical gathering,” said Kent Dykstra, one of the organizers. “(It’s) back in B.C. this year, hosted by the Cloverdale Canadian Reformed Church.”
The music camp is for people ages 6 to 70 and participants travel in from all over Canada.
“Reformed String Camp exists to provide encouragement, fellowship, and musical education for all Canadian Reformed and sister churches,” reads a post on the group’s website. “A special focus is placed upon … developing musical leadership and mentoring.”
The camp was last held in Cloverdale in 2023 as it rotates between B.C. and Ontario each year.
The 19th annual Reformed String Camp will be held in Cloverdale from July 14-19, with concerts being held on July 18, 19, and 20 at Cloverdale Canadian Reformed Church.
