Anime Revolution is returning to Vancouver for 2014, again at the city’s downtown Convention Centre and again featuring a slew of voice actors, Cosplayers, and exhibits.
The convention will run for three days, from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24.
Tickets are $75 for all three days for anyone aged 13 and over, and $35 for under-13. Individual day passes cha-ching in at $55 for Friday, $60 for Saturday, and $50 for Sunday.
“Our mission is to inspire people with the passion and appreciation for Japanese animation and the culture that surrounds it,” reads the event’s description on its website. “Put simply, Anime Revolution will become the standard of which others recognize, and our team will be known for its excellence, knowledge, and dedication to the craft.”
Each day’s festivities will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday runs the latest – until 1 a.m.
There will also be a Cosplay contest, which is accepting applicants until August 15.
Nigri – who will be in attendance as a special guest – is arguably North America’s most famous Cosplayer, and has become a YouTube personality in her own right, both with her own channel and through appearances on shows with Kassem G and Philip De Franco.
“Jessica Nigri is a cosplay entrepreneur and professional model, famed for her cosplay and charity work,” her Anime Revolution bio reads. “She has cosplayed Morrigan, Harley Quinn, Rainbow Dash, Female Joker, and Anya Stroud just to name a few.
“Perhaps one of her most famous cosplays was that of Pikachu in 2009 that helped garner her much attention. She also won a contest with IGN and was hired by WB Games to play the role of Juliet Starling in the marketing campaign for the videogame Lollipop Chainsaw.”
