Chase the winter blues away with a Hawaiian music workshop led by North Delta's Gary Cyr at the Cutie Circle (Coquitlam Ukulele Tiny Instrument Enthusiasts) on Feb. 8.

Participants will learn two or three songs during a 90-minute session. One will be in the Hawaiian language and the other(s) in English.

Hawaiian attire is optional.

The event is from 12:30-2 p.m. at Room 4 at the Pinetree Community Centre, 1260 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam.

The cost is $20 (please bring exact change.)

The Cutie Circle formed in mid-2014.

Cyr regularly leads the monthly South Surrey/White Rock Ukulele Circle, often guest-hosts the Vancouver Ukulele Circle, and periodically runs local workshops on the four-stringed instrument.

The Feb. 8 Hawaiian Workshop takes place just prior to the regular Cuties meeting.

The Cutie Circle runs every second Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the same venue.

Newcomers are welcome – just bring a ukulele. The cost is $2 to cover rental costs.
