There’s still time to catch the most recent exhibit at the Landmark Pop-Uptown Gallery at Central Plaza before it closes (the last day is Saturday, March 25).

Paintings from Here and Away is a show and sale of colourful and evocative landscapes by the ‘Plein Air Gang,’ also known as Peninsula artists Toni Williams, Carla Maskall and Georgina Perkins Hunt.

The three artists met a few years ago through their common interest, painting ‘on-site’ – or to use the French phrase, en plein air – around the Crescent Beach/Blackie Spit area of South Surrey.

“Since then, we’ve bonded over our shared passion,” Williams said.

Art lovers and Peninsula residents will recognize many treasured local scenes from the paintings, including White Rock and South Surrey beaches, Dunsmuir Gardens and the Stewart Farmhouse.

Providing the ‘away’ component of the show are many equally compelling scenes painted in British Columbia’s picturesque Interior and mountain regions.

The artists are also working on-site during the run of the show, in demonstrations of their techniques.

The gallery is located at 15140 North Bluff Rd. (16 Avenue).

Opening hours for the remainder of the exhibit are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
