Some amazing artwork by members of the Surrey Artswest Society are being showcased at North Delta’s George Mackie Library until the end of the month.

The society, whose mandate is “Artists Helping Artists,” provides a positive experience for both new and experienced artists, enabling them to connect, show their work, volunteer and attend demonstrations by professional artists. It also acts as a stepping stone for artists wanting to achieve professional status.

Surrey Artswest Society artists whose work is on display at the Mackie include Gail Aitchison, Margaret Burns, Ardita Fishta, Helmut Grutorad, Joanne Jackson, Maninder Kaur, Johanna Lasner, Wendy Mould, Donna Schipfel, Lyn Verra-Lay, Ken Wesdorp and Nancy Wright.

The society’s Artswest Art Club meets on the third Monday of the month, September through May, at 6:45 p.m. at the Newton Cultural Centre (13530 72 Ave., Surrey). Guests are welcome.

For more information about the group, contact Wendy at wendy@artbywendy.com.

Opportunities are still available for artists to display their work at both the George Mackie Library and the Ladner Pioneer Library.

Contact Minakshi at George Mackie Library (604-594-8155) or Nimisha at Ladner Pioneer Library (604-946-6215) to make arrangements.
