Champion Elvis Presley impersonator Roy LeBlanc brings his charms to Blue Suede Shoes at the Surrey Arts Centre on July 12-15.

A new theatre production featuring world champion Elvis tribute artist Roy LeBlanc will make fans of Elvis sit up and love him tender.

Blue Suede Shoes will light up the Main Stage at Surrey Arts Centre from July 12 to 15.

It’s the Elvis story as you’ve never heard it before, told through the eyes of his agent, “Colonel” Tom Parker – the man who managed Elvis’ entire career on a handshake.

Veteran actor Chris McHarge is convincing as the mysterious and colourful “Colonel,” telling the story with fascinating insights, a little whimsy, and a healthy dose of humour.

Re-live the memories – being discovered, the early Sun Records recordings, music and movie stardom, army days, the amazing ’68 comeback TV special and the flamboyant Vegas shows.

Chris McHarge and Colin Stewart (C2 Entertainment) are the co-creators of Blue Suede Shoes. McHarge, who plays “Colonel” Tom Parker, is also the director, and Stewart is also the producer and band leader.

World Champion Elvis tribute artist Roy LeBlanc is a two time Collingwood, ON Elvis Championship winner, and in 2003 was named The World’s Finest Elvis Impersonator at the Annual Elvis Extravaganza in Las Vegas.

With more than a dozen costume changes and a live band performing 40 of Elvis’ hits, fans of all ages will love this energetic and heartfelt tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The shows take place July 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. and July 14 and 15 at 3 p.m. at 13750 88 Ave. Tickets are $30-40. Call the box office at 604-501-5566 or visit https://tickets.surrey.ca
