The Jocelyn Pettit Band will perform on Aug. 24 at the Surrey Nature Centre.

The City of Surrey is hosting the Sounds of Summer Music Series in July and August.

Concerts will be held each Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in an outdoor setting.

Make sure to bring folding chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.

The concerts include:

• July 6: The Glades Garden Park (561 176 St.) – West Coast Strings Quartet

• July 13: City Hall Plaza (13450 104 Ave.) – Deanna Knight and the Hot Club of Mars (Gypsy swing)

• July 20: Surrey Museum (17710 56A Ave.) – Douglas Fraser and the Genuine Jug Band

• July 27: Darts Hill Garden Park (1633 170 St.) – Don Alder (acoustic fingerstyle guitar)

• Aug. 3: Hawthorne Park Gardens (10513 144 St.) – 5 on a String (bluegrass)

• Aug. 10: Bear Creek Park Gardens (13750 88 Ave.) – 12 Strings Trio (popular strings)

• Aug. 17: Fleetwood Park Gardens (15802 80 Ave.) – Rossi (Spanish guitar/Caribbean steel drum)

• Aug. 24: Surrey Nature Centre (14225 Green Timbers Way) – Jocelyn Pettit Band (Celtic and world with step dancing)

• Aug. 31: Holland Park Gardens (13428 Old Yale Rd.) – Golden Ears Jazz Band.

All concerts are free.
