White Rock woman stars in The Marvelous Wonderettes

Sabrielle McCurdy-Foreman will play Suzy in Foolight Theatre Company's presentation

A White Rock woman stars in Footlight Theatre Company’s presentation of The Marvelous Wonderettes by Roger Bean.

Sabrielle McCurdy-Foreman will play Suzy in the production, alongside Carolyn Bergstrand as Cindy Lou, Stefania Wheelhouse as Betty Jean and Katherine Alpen as Missy in the “winsome story” that follows the Wonderettes when they are unexpectedly asked to perform at Springfield High School’s senior prom.

Ten years later, the group is asked to perform at their reunion and “the Wonderettes are back at their high school reminiscing and realizing their lives have taken some challenging and wonderfully unanticipated turns.”

Songs to be performed include It’s in His Kiss, Leader of the Pack and It’s My Party, among others.

Director Wayne Nolan and musical director Kat MacColl joined together to present the musical centered around the four friends in 1958 and, 10 years later, in 1968.

The show runs until Nov. 15, at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, 6450 Deer Lake Ave.
