Youth in film

New school aims to educate young filmmakers on a variety of topics

A new film school for teens is being launched this summer on the Semiahmoo Peninsula.

The Youth Film School is the brainchild of up-and-coming filmmaker and South Surrey resident Elija Sorensen.

Geared for teens between the ages of 14 and 18 years, the program will teach camera technique, visual storytelling, editing and other skills.

Participants will come away from the first five-day workshop with two three-minute short films ready to show to family and friends.
