Two men have been arrested and charged with a number of criminal offences following an incident in a Surrey City Centre apartment on Monday (Jan. 20).
Surrey Police Service officers responded to a call from a resident of an apartment in the 13400-block of Central Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, who alleged two men in an apartment were acting violently and had a gun, an SPS release said.
Once SPS officers arrived, the two men were taken into custody without incident. With the assistance of SPS’s Frontline Investigation Support Team and Serious Crime Unit detectives, a search warrant was obtained and executed. A black BB gun was seized in the search.
The investigation resulted in the two men being charged with several criminal offences by BC Prosecution Service, the release noted.
Surrey resident Sameer Sameer, 23, has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of unlawful confinement.
Supreet Singh, also 23 and a Surrey resident, has been charged with one count of assault, one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of unlawful confinement, police said.
Both men were remanded in custody and have their first court appearance on Wednesday (Jan. 22).
