The cities of Surrey and White Rock are reminding all canine guardians to renew dog licences for 2025.

There's more than one kind of licence that needs renewing in 2025.

Surrey and White Rock are reminding residents who have four-legged canine family members that it's time to renew dog licences for another year.

All dogs must be licensed (over the age of three months), and renewing the licence also, helps ensure your furry friend finds his way home should he get lost, a White Rock post on X noted, as the licence provides guardians' contact and dog identification details.

Dog licence renewal is easy to do online, by phone or by appointment, the City of Surrey's X post added, urging canine guardians to make sure they renew by Feb. 3, 2025.

Both cities offered links to websites outlining the rules governing dogs in each community; White Rock has strict rules about dogs on the waterfront promenade and pier, for example, while Surrey limits the number of dogs allowed per property to three, unless there is a hobby or commercial kennel licence in place.
