The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is heading to The Hills at Portal this weekend as a field full of top junior golfers from B.C. compete for the title in the second Fall Series event of the season Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 21-22).
In the Bantam Boys (U15) division, Surrey's Tiger Liu, who won the previous event with a two-day score of eight-under-par, is in the field, along with top finishers Andrew Hou and Ivan Chen from Vancouver, who will be looking to take their shot at the title over the 36-hole competition.
On the Bantam Girls (U15) side, Jenny Guo (West Vancouver) will be looking to continue her winning ways, coming off a dominating 11-stroke victory in the last event. She will be challenged for the title by Doris Liu (Vancouver), Rikki Liu (Vancouver) and Christy Man (Richmond) and the rest of the U15 girls this weekend.
White Rock's Stella Sun will be competing in the U11 girls division and will be looking to make The Hills at Portal the site of a victory.
Also competing are the CJGA Linksters over one round on Saturday, where a total of 60 young players starting from seven years old up to 14 will play against others from their own age groups.
On the U11 boys side, top players Johnny Wang (Vancouver), Theo Zhou (West Vancouver) and Felix Qu (North Vancouver) will try to hold off the other challengers as they battle it out for the trophy.
The action starts early this weekend as the older age groups tee off starting at 8:24 a.m., finishing with the younger age groups around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 21).
Tee times on Sunday (Sept. 22) range from 8:24 a.m.-9:45 a.m.
