Pianist Ingrid Filter and conductor Alpesh Chauhan will take the stage for the final concert of the VSO's "Surrey Nights" season for 2024-25.

Sullivan Heights' Bell Performing Arts Centre is where Chopin’s Second Piano Concerto will be performed Sunday, March 30, starting at 7 p.m.

The VSO's 106th season includes five concerts at the Bell in the annual Surrey Nights series, endowed by Werner and Helga Höing.

Britain’s Chauhan has garnered rave reviews by critics and audiences worldwide. In his Vancouver debut, he brings his "flair for captivating performance to one of the greatest of all British symphonies, Elgar’s First," the VSO raves in a pre-concert post.

"With a reputation as one of the pre-eminent interpreters of Chopin, we welcome Argentinian Ingrid Fliter in Chopin’s lyrical and dramatic Second Piano Concerto. Zoltan Almashi’s Maria’s City opens the program in a heartfelt ode to the Ukrainian city of Mariupol."

This weekend (March 21-23), the VSO's national tour comes to a close with three performances of Dvořák’s "New World Symphony" at Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.
