Environment Canada is forecasting an increasingly sunny, warm week for White Rock and Surrey.

It may be time to break out the shorts and flip flops, as it's been awhile since there has been so much sunshine in a Metro Vancouver forecast.

Despite a soggy start to Monday (March 31), the weather for the first week of April looks much sunnier — literally.

Environment Canada is forecasting sunny skies from Tuesday through Sunday, with temperatures expected to reach as high as 18 C (22 C inland) on Sunday (April 6) in Surrey, White Rock, Delta and much of Metro Vancouver.

Some clouds are expected to linger on Tuesday and Wednesday, with skies clearing and the mercury rising to 17 C (21 C inland) by Saturday.
