Nearly 40,000 brave wet, windy weather for Bear Creek Lights in Surrey

Annual garden light display set in park's 1-km walking loop

Despite the windy, rainy weather over the past few weeks, thousands still ventured to Bear Creek Lights in Surrey.

The City of Surrey took to X to thank everyone who attended this year, saying just under 40,000 came out to celebrate nature at night.

An annual fall tradition at the park for more than a decade, Bear Creek Park boasts one of the Lower Mainland's finest year-round show gardens, according to the city, which "sets the stage for Bear Creek Lights."

The family-friendly light display, which ran from Nov. 2-22, allowed nature to shine with a series of dazzling light displays, illuminated natural landscapes, whimsically lit creatures and stunning photo opportunities, all set through the park's one-kilometer garden walking loop.

In its post on X, the city reminded residents they can share their thoughts on the attraction for a chance to win a $50 Superstore gift card.

Nex up at Bear Creek Park is the Christmas Train, which starts Dec. 1, with day and night trains to choose from.
