That's because the province celebrates International Purple Day for Epilepsy on March 26, as March is Epilepsy Awareness Month, also known as Purple Month, according to the BC Epilepsy Society.

Communities across British Columbia celebrate the day by illuminating several landmarks and also, by having proclamations read in cities, districts, towns and villages.

In Surrey, the lights at Civic Plaza by City Hall with glow purple, as well as the lights on White Rock's iconic pier, and also, recreation centres in North and South Delta.
