Surrey police investigate Sunday shooting in Newton

No one injured in early-morning incident

Surrey Police Service is investigating a Newton shooting that happened early Sunday morning (Dec. 15).

Surrey Police Service is investigating an early-morning Sunday (Dec. 15) shooting in Newton.

SPS received reports of several shots fired at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday outside a residence in the 7700-block of 126A Street. 

Several residents were inside asleep at the time, but although the shooting resulted in damage to a vehicle and the residence, no one was injured, an SPS release said.

SPS officers, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), discovered both a vehicle parked in the driveway and the side of the house were struck by several bullets.

Two suspects, described as adults wearing dark clothing, were seen running away, the release noted. 

The investigation is ongoing and being led by Surrey Police Services’ Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST).
