Surrey RCMP are hoping the public can help them find a suspect in relation to a Nov. 14 assault in Newton.

Surrey RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance regarding an assault in Newton last week.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, at approximately 1:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7100-block of 135 Street, an RCMP release said.

Police arrived and found two young males, aged 11 and 13, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Both youths were transported to hospital for further assessment, the release noted.

Prior to police being called, the suspect male fled on foot towards a fitness company at 7093 King George Blvd.

He is described as a Black male, approximately 5'5", and is believed to be in his mid to late teens. He was wearing a black Nike medical mask, a black hoodie or sweater, black pants and black Nike shoes.

Surrey RCMP is looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage prior to, and after, 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 14 in the area of the 7100-block of 135 Street, or the parking lot of 7093 King George Blvd.
