LETTER: Anti-Semitism has no place in White Rock

'Perhaps the same people bothered by racism to minority communities can afford the same thoughts for our Jewish neighbours'

Editor,

After the recent election of Mr Chapman, there are people rightly suggesting that racism and/or intolerance of Muslims in the community should not be welcome at all.

That being said, some of the same people appear to be fine with anti-Semitic behaviour directed to their Jewish neighbours. A recent Facebook posting in a local White Rock group wishing the Jewish community a Happy Hanukkah was responded to with hateful anti-Semitic comments as well as anger and laugh emojis.

For this reason, the post needed to have comments turned off and then removed.

Perhaps the same people bothered by racism to minority communities can afford the same thoughts for our Jewish neighbours.
