LETTER: Save what we have left of our quaint White Rock

'Stop building for the sake of building'
Outside of White Rock City Hall for letters page.
White Rock city council's plans to move ahead with an uptown community hub aren't winning favour with this letter writer.

Editor,

Re: Plans for White Rock community hub

Against the hub. Repair the damage first. The current city council has done more damage to this city than good.

The closure of Johnson affected the business with little notice from council only to pass the buck on to the BIA to manage. Marine Drive is a mess with empty storefronts and dilapidated buildings.

Now this council wants to build a 12-storey building which goes above the current OCP plan to include services that we already have. Then they plan on selling the current property that city hall is on to developers and move the cenotaph. Have they no honour?!

Save what we have left of our quaint city and stop building for the sake of building.
