The 'mountain of maintenance' required wasn't a secret, this writer says

Editor,

Re: Proposal looks to exclude gollf course land from ALR (Peace Arch News, Nov. 21)

Full disclosure — I was a member of Peace Portal Golf Course and now am an annual pass member.

It is doubtful that either of these business people did not know what they were inheriting when they purchased Peace Portal Golf — they are both area residents and Mr. Haley is an avid golfer. Due diligence anybody?

Yes, there was a mountain of maintenance that was required to get the golf course to where it needed to be, but anyone with an ounce of knowledge could figure that out. To use that as the excuse to develop is disgusting. I can only hope Surrey council and the ALC will see through the veil.

If you bought to develop, then just say so. Anything less is an insult to the rest of us.

P.S. Golf was one of the only activities you could do during COVID.
