LETTER: Turn uptown White Rock site into a green 'oasis'

Mini-park would be the best idea for White Rock citizens, writer says

This proposed site for White Rock's uptown community hub would be a perfect greenspace, this writer says.

Editor,

Can you visualize a green little oasis here? An inviting green space added to the few existing trees in the corner? A place to sit and ponder the beautiful "whale wall" family kitty-corner on Johnston and Russell Avenue.

It could be a project for young landscape engineers to re-create this small one-third of an acre to a place of beauty. In the future, more old parking lots may need to be reclaimed for growing, thus becoming an excellent project.

This mini-park, which was promised to the local citizens, just might become the year to fall in love with White Rock again!
