Editor,
An open letter to the White Rock mayor and councillors:
To address the urgent need for subsidized housing for seniors in White Rock, I urge you to do the following: purchase two city lots near a bus stop, donate them to a non-profit who can then build and administer the building. Surrey has done this in the past and is still doing this. A few designated "affordable" 20 per cent off units in a highrise is not the answer.
We owe it to our struggling seniors who helped build our city and need a helping hand to stay in the city they love. Where there is a will, there is a way!
Patricia Kealy, White Rock
