SENIORS SCENE: Easy, fun ways to stay fit

White Rock's Kent Street Activity Centre offers a number of activities and programs to help you stay fit this spring

Keeping in shape was never so much fun.

Join us for Middle Eastern dance classes, and enjoy these gentle-paced, fun sessions that build flexibility and enhance cardiovascular fitness.

Starting April 2 at Kent Street, 10:45-11:45 a.m.  Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• Feeling stiff and slow to move about?

The arthritis exercise program might be just the thing for you. You will be led in a series of exercises to improve your mobility and increase muscle, ligament and bone strength.

The program will be held at the Centre for Active Living, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, starting April 3. Call 604-241-2199.

• Keep your blood flowing by attending Cardio Circuit for 55+ classes; both beginner and multi-level offered. Utilize the new cardio machines through interval training, led by a certified fitness instructor. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace. Starting the first week of April, classes will be held at the Centre for Active Living. Call 604-541-2199 for details.

• Artwork is now on display at the White Rock Community Centre. Come and enjoy a multitude of drawings depicting everything from landscape and abstraction to studies of people and nature. Have your say – vote on your favourite piece with a ballot into our ‘People’s Choice’ ballot box and award your favourite artist. The show runs until April 20.

The Kent Street Activity Centre, located at 1475 Kent St., is open to people 55 years of age or better. For information, call 604-541-2231 or visit whiterockcity.ca
