Register now for some new Kent Street Activity Centre summer excursions that just went on sale Monday.

• Would you like to get more out of your camera but need some help?

In the Photography Made Easy program, go back to the basics and learn how to take control of your SLR camera and understand what all the modes, menus and setting will do for you.

Discover all the tips and tricks to becoming a better photographer beginning Tuesday, May 24, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the White Rock Community Centre. Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• Are you feeling comfortable with the features of your iPad and are now ready to learn even more about its features?

Level  2 iPad classes are set to be offered at the White Rock Community Centre on two Fridays next month, June 3 and June 17, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• The Kent Street Activity Centre is looking for volunteers to drive seniors in the community on a variety of excursions throughout the Lower Mainland.

If you have your Class 4 driver’s license, enjoy meeting new people and have time to share with others, please call 604-541-2236 for more information.

• Join the conversation – the Spanish conversation that is.

If you are looking to improve your skills in this beautiful language, meet up with the Spanish conversation activity group in the Kent Street library on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. A White Rock Recreation and Culture membership is required. Call 604-541-2231 for more information.

• Do you love to sing? Join the Sing Along group at Kent Street Activity Centre every Tuesday from 2-3:30 p.m.

Piano accompaniment and song sheets are provided. This activity group will be sure to keep your spirits high with an afternoon of friendship and fun. Call 604-541-2231 for more information.

• A workshop on how to manage chronic pain will be held Thursday, May 19, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Centre for Active Living.

Improve your understanding of the principles of pain management and its treatments, explore different methods to cope with chronic pain and learn how to take an active role in your own pain management. The workshop is presented by the Arthritis Society of BC. Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• The Kent Street auditorium is open Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. for all those 50-plus who enjoy live music, friendly people and social dancing. Tickets are available at the door starting at 7 p.m. On stage tonight is the popular Sweetwater.

• All White Rock Recreation and Culture facilities will be closed Monday, May 23 for Victoria Day. Regular office hours resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
