Social singers meet weekly at White Rock's Kent Street Activity Centre

Do you enjoy singing in a relaxed, fun and social atmosphere?

Join the Sing Along group at the Kent Street Activity Centre every Tuesday, 2-3:30 p.m. Piano accompaniment and song sheets are provided.

This friendly group will be sure to keep your spirits high during these chilly winter months.

• Just a reminder that the Kent Street Senior Society is looking for donations of gently used books for their sale on Feb. 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kent Street Centre Auditorium.

• Discover the joy of yoga in a safe and gentle way that is perfect for beginners.

Chair Yoga is designed for older adults who have mobility or other physical challenges.

This health and wellness program begins Thursday, Jan. 19, 9:15-10:15 a.m. at the Kent Street Activity Centre.

• Have fun keeping fit in Belly Dance classes at the Kent Street Activity Centre.

Belly dancing is a great workout and a wonderful way to learn a new skill. Bring your daughter or granddaughter as all ages welcome, Wednesdays 5-6 p.m. at Kent Street Activity Centre.

• Music is a wonderful way to relax and help reduce the stress in your life.

Music for Relaxation and Stress Reduction is a live music program that focuses on mediation and relaxation. Learn breathing exercises, guided mediation and self-guided mediation all through a live music program.

This amazing course begins on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 7-8 p.m. at the Centre for Active Living.

• Not sure what to cook for a meal for one or find the dinner hour a hard time to be home alone?

Register now for the Tasty Connections program beginning Thursday, Feb. 16, 4-6 p.m. for five weeks at the Kent Street Activity Centre kitchen.

Cook a meal and enjoy it with others then take some home to have later in the week. Recipes are simple and created in a fun atmosphere.

• The Kent Street auditorium is open Wednesday evenings, 7:30 to 10:30, for all those 50+ who enjoy social dancing to live music.

On stage this week is Joe Sartorello. Purchase tickets at the door; refreshments are served midway.
