Learn about volunteer and leadership opportunities with Youth Transforming Society on Oct. 19 in Surrey.

Youth Transforming Society (YTS) is hosing their third-annual Volunteering and Beyond event on Oct. 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Queen Elizabeth Secondary, 9457 136 St.

More than 60 organizations, including the City of Surrey, Surrey RCMP, Canadian Cancer Society, YMCA and Ronald McDonald House will set up information booths to interact with and inform local youth about potential volunteer and leadership opportunities.

YTS is a Surrey-based youth group that aims to raise awareness for humanitarian issues and encourage community volunteerism.

Founded in 2010, YTS has since raised more $15,000 for organizations such as The Salvation Army, Oxfam and BC Children’s Hospital, along with conducting numerous awareness campaigns.
