It surely took its time, but the winter snow finally arrived in the Lower Mainland, and White Rock was no exception.
While the snowfall has subsided for the time being, the past weekend saw the first snowfall of the season for the region after many chilly days. This weather does not plan to let up any time soon, as Tuesday afternoon and night (Feb. 4) is expected to be a mix of cloud and sun rays peeking through, according to Environment Canada.
With a 30 per cent chance of flurries overnight in White Rock, the windchill is expected to drop to -12 C with a high of -2 C, and possibly as low as -13 C overnight.
Wednesday is expected to be much the same with the same chance of flurries and cloudy weather.
The City of White Rock has seemingly been busy clearing roads after Monday night's snowfall blanketing the area.
Meanwhile, in Surrey, the city's waste collection was disrupted on Monday due to the snowfall and the resulting ice on the roads. The city warned that organics were not picked up as scheduled, and garbage collection will resume once roads are safe.
Got a photo to share? The remainder of the week may see more snowfall throughout the region, so if you happen to snap some pics, make sure to share them with us by emailing newsroom@peacearchnews.com to be featured in our newspaper.
