Due to the damage to the hydro pole, the role is expected to be blocked until around 12 p.m. Saturday.

Police in Surrey temporarily closed the 14200 block of Crescent Road after a vehicle collision early Saturday morning (Oct. 5). They opened it again to traffic late Saturday afternoon.

In a Surrey RCMP news release Saturday (Oct. 5), police said the collision damaged a "hydro pole that is now blocking" the road.

The Surrey RCMP did not provide an update by end of day, but people in the White Rock/ South Surrey Facebook group reported that the road has been open with single lane alternating traffic around 1 p.m.

The driver did not sustain any injuries.

The collision also knocked out power for close to 300 BC Hydro customers in the area.

BC Hydro is on the scene and expects power to be restored around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
