Another night of boxing is planned at a Surrey banquet hall this Friday, Sept. 13.
The Bisla Fight Night 12 event promises "the biggest boxing show in Surrey" with several bouts at Taj Park Convention Centre in Newton.
"Come out and enjoy a night of action-packed professional boxing featuring some of the most exciting fighters in Western Canada," Bisla Promotions says in a post on Bisla Martial Arts' Instagram page.
A highlight of the night will be when BMA's own Gavin "The Iceman" Bisla goes looking to get his first professional victory in his Surrey hometown against Langley's tough Ely Avelar. "This fight is going to be an absolute fire fight," raves a post.
Harkerate Nijjar will face Nawid Saman in another bout, with others also in the ring. Tickets are sold in advance (call 778-565-6165) and at the door (8580 132 St.), with a first bell time of 7:30 p.m.
The 600-capacity Taj Park venue has been popular for boxing in recent years with event promoter Inder Bisla, who runs Bisla Martial Arts in Newton. The Bisla Fight Night 10 event, held there in May 2023, saw cars fill the banquet hall parking lot and line 132 Street.
