Surrey Knights battle Langley Trappers in a best-of-three Survivor Series to open playoffs in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL).
Game 1 goes Wednesday in Langley at George Preston Recreation Centre (Feb. 12), followed Thursday by Game 2 at North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex. If needed, Game 3 would be played Friday at the rink in South Langley.
After 48 regular-season games, the Knights finished 10 points behind the Trappers in the Harold Brittain Conference.
The playoff series winner will face top-ranked Ridge Meadows Flames. The other conference battle will have Chilliwack Jets trying to soar above Abbotsford Pilots.
In the Tom Shaw Conference, Port Coquitlam Trailblazers will face North Vancouver Wolf Pack in a Survivor Series playoff for the right to face #1-seed Delta Ice Hawks. The other series will see White Rock Whalers play Richmond Sockeyes.
Last Thursday (Feb. 6), the Knights ended their regular season with a 3-2 win over Coastal Tsunami, with Surrey goals by Brenden Kwan, Wendell Adriano and Jovan Athwal. Goaltender Joshua Dubreuil stopped 32 of 34 shots.
