“We’ve worked with the majority of our suppliers for a long time,” says Dawn, store manager at Knock on Wood. “We work with a lot of Canadian manufacturers, both in BC and across the country. Everything we carry is made with care. These are investments you’ll love for decades to come.”
In addition to their longtime suppliers, Knock on Wood is also always on the lookout for local artisans and builders to expand their selection of unique pieces that will enhance your home. And if you browse the store and can’t find that perfect piece, their talented team can work with you to create something custom, just for you.
Creative team offers small space solutions
Knock on Wood is proud to be a non-commission sales team, and they’re well-qualified to help their clientele.
“We thrive on helping our customers find the perfect piece for their home and there is a lot of creativity to draw on from our sales team” says Dawn, who has been in interior design since 2004.
Other staff bring training and experience ranging from interior design to costume/set design and visual arts, and they speak many languages too!
Some people come into the store with a very specific idea of what they want, and are happy to take advantage of Knock on Wood’s wide selection. Others tap into the staff’s knowledge, when trying to furnish a tricky space or achieve a specific look.
“Space is a real problem for a lot of people! Sometimes it’s not that the home itself is small, but the hallways, stairways or access points prevent larger pieces from getting into your home,” Dawn says. “We will work with you to be sure all the necessary considerations are taken.”
