Community is important, and over the last two years we’ve come to see our communities in a new light — and found that we value them in a different way than before. For some folks, like the team at Hilltop Plumbing & Heating, community has always been at the heart of what they do. After all, this small, local business has been providing quality service and products in the White Rock area for over 50 years!
A helping hand
For the team at Hilltop Plumbing & Heating, it’s more than just running a well-respected business in the community that matters, it’s doing good where they can in the community. It’s always been a part of the way they do business—giving back to those around them. They sponsor local sports like hockey and curling, but they also give back in less public ways too.
Back in 2019, everyone at Hilltop Plumbing & Heating put their heads together and came up with a great way to help a family in need by providing a new heating unit, fully installed. It was a great way to give back, making life a little more comfortable for one local family a year at Christmas time.
Steve Duddy, general manager, notes that, “We just want to help where we can, using our particular skill set to make things a little easier for someone who is going through a rough patch!”
Better together
Finding a family can be the tricky part. People are often reluctant to come forward—but there’s no publicity involved—even the nomination can be anonymous—it’s about supporting a neighbour and a job well done—nothing more! The only thing the team at Hilltop gets out of it is a sense of pride in knowing that they helped!
