A February gala filled with glitz and glamour worthy of Bond, James Bond, will support cutting-edge surgery research and technology.

The Surrey Hospital Foundation’s Feb. 23 Celebration of Care gala fundraiser will support the Foundation’s $10-million campaign to transform Surrey Memorial Hospital’s operating rooms with the state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology needed to continue providing preeminent surgery to Fraser Valley patients.

“We’re proud to host the season’s most anticipated gala, an evening filled with delicious food, local entertainment and fundraising opportunities, all in support of an amazing local cause that touches each and every one of us in some way,” says Sharon Butler, the Foundation’s Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships & Philanthropy. “Join us for a thrilling James Bond-themed evening and the chance tomix and mingle with the city’s corporate and philanthropic leaders, all in support of surgery at Surrey Memorial Hospital.”

Last year’s gala – which raised an amazing $2.1 million for the Children’s Health Centre – sold out, so don’t delay! Tickets for a table of eight are $3,000 – visit surreyhospitalfoundation.com or email shfevents@fraserhealth.ca

An entertaining evening

The Celebration of Care Gala: To Surrey with Love will welcome more than 600 local leaders to Surrey’s Aria Convention Centre for the Bond-inspired evening.

Supported by entertainment sponsors Blackwood Partners, the evening will open with the Qualico Reception, where the Ben Dunnill Band will perform from 6 to 7:30 p.m. As guests enjoy the music of Dunnill, a celebrated young White Rock musician who will be joined by guitar virtuoso Nathan Tapsas, bassist Colin Sankey and drummer Paul Fader, they’ll savour canapés and a signature martini, while taking in gaming tables and unique, theme-inspired rooms.

During dinner, guests will enjoy the music of Sami Ghawi & The Apartment, both from Surrey/White Rock. Natural entertainers and performers, Ghawi and The Apartment will captivate audiences with their smooth and groovy sound, ranging from the sounds of Cuba and Brazil to the West’s classic hits.

Following the three-course sit-down dinner prepared by Chef Edgar of the Four Seasons Vancouver, guests can bid on incredible live and silent auction packages, followed by dancing and late-night snacks. And don’t forget your thank you gift, provided for all guests.
