A bouncer from Whalley bar is in hospital after being mowed down by a truck.

At just after midnight on Saturday (Oct. 19), a fight broke out at Pancho and Lefty's, in the 10700-block King George Boulevard.

One of the people in the altercation took off.

He then got in his Ford F350 truck and tried to race out of the bar parking lot, but not before plowing into a 45-year-old bouncer, causing critical injuries to his chest, lungs, back and abdomen, and sending him to hospital.

The driver then turned himself in to police, who are now considering possible charges.

Police would like to speak with any additional witnesses to this collision and/or to the altercation that happened outside the bar who have not already spoken with police.

Anyone with more information asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
