Two Surrey residents – one man and one woman – are facing dozens of charges in connection with a series of crimes that spanned nearly two months and occurred in communities from West Vancouver to Chilliwack, including Surrey.

According the Sgt. Gord Elias of the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT), most of the alleged crimes occurred overnight. They included vehicle thefts, residential break-ins, theft from vehicles and using stolen credit cards.

During a search of a Surrey home, police identified and seized property belonging to numerous victims.

The accused were arrested late last month.

Matthew Sidney Soper, 26, is facing 64 criminal charges; 23 charges have been laid against 25-year-old Hayley Kay Scales.
