An air ambulance was dispatched to South Surrey Friday afternoon to transport a Surrey man to hospital after a collision near the Pacific Highway border crossing.

A police spokesperson said the 43-year-old cyclist sustained broken arms and legs and was bleeding from his head after being struck by a southbound truck at 176 Street and 4 Avenue. Conscious at the scene, he was reported to be in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

The crash occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Traffic on 176 Street was temporarily diverted, then reduced to single-lane in both directions while police investigated.
