BNSF workers put the finishing touches on the new Little Campbell River trestle Wednesday, welding the track joints on the 80-foot span to create a quieter, seamless rail.

The bridge was lowered into place last Thursday (Nov. 20) afternoon, following removal of its decades-old deteriorating predecessor.

Train-speed restrictions were to be lifted on completion of the welding work.
