Homeowner stabbed in Surrey break-and-enter

A Surrey man is recovering from a stab wound after confronting a trio of intruders in his home early this morning.

According to police, the incident occurred just before 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 19100-block of 62A Avenue.

"An adult male homeowner confronted the suspects inside the home, a physical altercation ensued and the homeowner was stabbed," a news release states.

The intruders, described as two Caucasian males and one who was about five-foot-10, fled in a 2005 white Mini Cooper, licence plate BT675H.

The homeowner, 57, was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
