It’s Election Day in White Rock: Here’s everything you need to know

Four in the race for mayor, another 16 seeking one of six council seats

The next reign of local leaders are expected to be named Saturday night, as White Rock 2022 municipal election gets underway.

Voters will choose their mayor from among four candidates: incumbent Darryl Walker, current council members Erika Johanson and Scott Kristjanson, and former White Rock City councillor Megan Knight.

Meanwhile, 16 are in the race for six council seats. These include three incumbent council members along with former White Rock City councillors, several who have run for a seat in the past and even a few who are brand new to the local political scene. Their biographies are linked below.

Polls are open in White Rock from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Where you can vote:

Voters may cast their ballot at any one of three voting locations:

• Centennial Arena, 14600 North Bluff Rd.

• Kent Street Activity Centre, 1475 Kent St.

• White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Ave.

What happens once polls close?

After 8 p.m. local time, election officials will begin counting and tallying the ballots.
